About Continuous Spouting

SPOUTING CHECK LIST

SCAFFOLD
Must be ticekted to O.S.H. Standards and at least 300mm away from the fascia board.

DOWNPIPE LOCATIONS
Marked with dazzle on the ground or wall, or owner, builder to be on site when the contractors arrive to verify locations.

PLASTERWALLS
We need to know the type of plaster system (thickness) so we can make allowances where the spouting butts into the plaster. Also please ensure that all masking paper and drop sheets are clear of fascia and areas where there is to be spouting.

PAVING/CONCRETING
Please remember we need ladder access to all areas where there is spouting.

ROOFS
On tile and steel roofs the tiles/iron & hip tiles/flashings should not overhang the fascia by more than 60mm. Where the roof pitch changes (ie tiles to butynol) it is very difficult to get the spouting to cover the ends of the roofing on both levels. Downpipe locations may need to be changed to achieve a suitable solution that is both functional and aesthetic.

VALLEY TRAYS
Where possible sit on the fascia board or notch down to the minimum necessary.

POWER SUPPLY
Our machines require a power supply. Therefore, please ensure that a power connection is available for us

FASCIA BOARDS
Where applicable, please paint or stain a minimum of 24 hours prior to commencement of work

MATERIAL INCOMPATABILITY
These include Zincalume in contact with lead, steel in contact with aluminium, steel in contact with copper, cedar shingles and galvanised steel. Wherever possible direct contact should be limited between the above materials.

Water from copper spouting & downpipes must not discharge on to ColorCote roofs.

DRAINAGE
If the risers are in prior to the downpipes being installed a 65mm & 80mm downpipe are ideal. If there is no scaffolding on site we prefer drainage channels to be backfilled so it is safe for the use of ladders.
